My boy is growing up!

Look at this boy!
I was sitting back watching him the other day and just had one of those moments where I turned sappy mom. I cannot believe how big he is getting and unbaby-like he is. He has made so much growth in the past 2 months. This makes me sad and excited at the same time. My heartfelt sappy moment inspired this post. I just wanted to post and document some of the little things I don't want to forget about this stage of his life.
1. Everything is, "Me do!"
2. He has to have the same as sister (no matter what!)
3. He has always called Sophia "yah, yah" (don't know where that came from), but now it's "Fia (the last part of her name)!"
4.When you ask him what his name is, he says, "Tenton"
5. He is going through a phase where he calls his daddy, "TJ"
6. This is not a proud one, but says, "dang-it" or "what heck" (for what the heck). I know a 2 yr old shouldn't be saying this but it makes me belly laugh inside when he says it.
7. He has no binky anymore.
8. He climbs out of his crib, but says he doesn't want a big boy bed (this will happen this summer whether he likes it or not)
9. He says SOOO much more (too many words to write)
10. He counts to 12.
11. He says his ABC's but his favorite letters are "A, B, C, D, E, F, G" (and will yell them)
12. He sings in the car and has an opinion of what he wants to listen to.
13. He has a temper, but is a sweetheart at the same time.
14. He thinks he doesn't need naps.
15. He gives great hugs and kisses.
16. My favorite is when he says, "Hi mommy!" or "wuv you mommy!"
17. He is officially the annoying little brother and tries to whack Sophia when he gets mad.
18. He opens all doors
19. Loves cars, trains, trucks, buses and will point them all out while we drive.
20. He is terrified of dogs up close (loves them from a very far distance).
21. Identifies people by their names.
22. Most of all he never misses a beat!
Of course there is more, but I will stop...I truly love this guy!

4th of July

This 4th of July was pretty laid back. We didn't really decide what we were going to do until the day before. TJ and I were both kinda "blah" this year which is not like us, so we went to a BBQ at my parents house with Christine and her family too. We had fun and I actually enjoyed how relaxed it was. Grandma Uffens bought them their festive attire.
Sophia had to have a picture with her buddy Tyler.
While waiting for it to get dark, we did some parachutes. I forgot how fun those are to try to catch. Sophia was also quite brave this year and wanted to help light some stuff off too... Here it goes, 3, 2, 1...blast off...
There it is..up, up in the sky
And here is comes....Sophia caught it!
We also did some classic pop-its. Kenton liked these.
We were a little bummed about the weather not getting as sunny and warm as they said it was going to be, but that didn't stop my kids from swimming. They didn't last long and I made TJ get in with them. He wasn't too happy about that, hahaha!
Lovin' on Grandma while we waited some more.
 Sparkler time...
How sweet is this? Kenton sat with me for a while, but then needed to be with the other kids. Tyler is so good that he would even put his hands over Kenton's ears to mute the sound of the loud fireworks.
We had a nice little show. After our show we came home and watched the fireworks from our bedroom that were happening over the water. They were huge!
 Happy 4th of July!!!

3rd of July

Of course we couldn't miss out on our annual 3rd of July Fireworks in Poulsbo. We met up with our friends from church and enjoyed the show together. Don't worry we got some Sluy's  donuts while we were there too! There is also something about needing festive toes for the 4th of July, so Sophia and I made sure we were ready.
Don't mind my dirty feet...they got stepped on quite a few times in the crowd.
  waiting for the show...
I love this girl! New favorite picture of her and I
Group shot!
Thank you Vaughn family for enjoying it with us!

Water Babies

I am L-O-V-I-N-G this weather! My kids were true water babies this week!
We took full advantage of the nice sunny warm weather. On Monday we went
swimming at my parents pool with cousins Ella, Ethan, and Nolan.
On Tuesday we went to Point No Point (1 of my favorite summer spots!) with some friends from church. The water was pretty cold, but the kids got in it a little. This is where I got my first sunburn of the summer.
On Wednesday my friend invited us out to her in-laws lake house on Tiger lake. The lake was absolutely divine! The water was so warm and we enjoyed swimming and floating. So relaxing. We brought Mollie with us to swim with Sophia and they had a blast.
This is one of my new favorite pictures of Kenton. Gosh he makes my heart melt:)
My friend brought this little fish boat for her son, but he didn't like it that much, but Kenton sure did!

Awwww warm weather...please hang around all summer long!
